The very exciting, anticipated event of the cricketing world — ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 #CWC15 — is here. We are all pumped up and looking forward to mess our routines for the game (speaking on behalf of the people on the other wide of the globe; i.e. Pakistan).

I’ve come across few mobile apps that I found on the Google Play store and tried them out myself. Here are my comments on each one of them.

I was looking for an app that can help me keep updated with:

  • Match Fixtures in general
  • My Selected Team Match Fixtures in particular
  • Live match Scores
  • News & Multimedia (Pictures/Match Highlights etc)

1 – ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 (Play Store Link)

  • As the name suggests, dedicated app for Cricket World Cup 2015
  • Match Fixtures
    • Add to calendar
    • Twitter feeds for TEAMvsTEAM hashtag (e.g. #PAKvsIND)
  • My Team (Select your team to filter content)
    • News & Multimedia
    • Fixtures & Stats
    • Players Stats
  • Match Results
  • Team Standings
  • Series Stats

2 – Cricbuzz Cricket Scores & News (Play Store Link)

  • Generic cricket app with dedicated World Cup 2015 section
  • Ad supported
  • Match Fixtures
  • Teams
    • Players and their detailed stats
    • Matches
  • Venues
  • Points Table
  • Gallery
  • Archive
  • Extensive Stats Section

3 – Star Sports Cricket Scores (Play Store Link)

  • Generic sports app with dedicated Cricket section for live scores
  • Ball By Ball update
  • Scores

  • Standings

I’ve found the dedicated ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 app to be so far the most useful. However, I wish if it notified me of important updates of my selected team matches, match updates etc.

If you know and have used an app that you find useful, leave it’s name, link/description in the comments section. I’d love to try it out myself.
